Quality and Process

Pattern Making

“Pattern making is an art. It is a bridge function between design and production. A sketch can be turned into a garment via a pattern which interprets the design in the form of the garment components.” Garry Cooklin Pattern making is a highly skilled technique that calls for technical ability, sensitivity for design interpretation and a practical understanding of garment construction. However, it has become an easy job with the use of computers. The different software has made the job of the pattern master easier. We, at P&M Creations, use the latest computer aided software to make and grade patterns. This reduces the time to make and grade patterns in comparison to manual pattern making. Moreover, we maintain the pattern details season after season, so that going back to a particular style does not mean re-inventing the wheel.

Embroidery

The embroidery section is one of the most important sections of the apparel manufacturing industry. It is one of the special tasks which is done according to the buyer’s requirements. We use the latest technology computerized machines for embroidery on garments. These machines can set up to run 50 embroideries at once. Our quality check team checks some samples to ensure that the machine is set up correctly before the bulk production. It helps us to minimize garments rejection due to embroidery defects.

Product Quality

At P&M Creations, quality control is practiced right from the initial stage of sourcing raw materials to the stage of final finished garment. We strive to follow all eight dimensions of quality: performance, features, reliability, conformance, durability, serviceability, aesthetics and perceived quality. Quality is a reflection of customers’ opinions on the value they see in products. Since customer satisfaction is our USP, we use the latest technology with high-level workmanship and expertise to produce high-quality baby apparel, Organic and More has one of the largest high-quality baby apparel manufacturing facilities in the region, “Good for Baby, Good for Earth” We follow best practices in terms of social and environmental compliance. Raw Material Sourcing

The main motivation of the sourcing process is to obtain high satisfaction with the low-cost. Being a GOTS certified manufacturer, we prefer to outsource our raw material from the suppliers who are also GOTS certified. There are various parameters on which sourcing of raw material basically depend such as lead time, logistics, quality parameters, costs, and minimum order quantity. Our sourcing team continuously works to achieve the goal to get the right raw material at the right place at the right time and at the right price.

Cutting

Cutting is the process to cut out the fabric pieces from specified fabric for making garments. We use vertical knife cutting machines for fabric cutting to ensure accurate cutting of fabrics. This step is the most decisive because once the fabric gets cut out, minimal changes can be done to rectify mistakes. We also have the capability to dye cut parts or cut small parts using a band knife. Our jersey fabrics are relaxed at the table to ensure the least amount of shrinkage and measurement inaccuracy during the production process. Our layer heights are usually less than 3 inches in height, again to ensure maximum accuracy in cutting the panels.

Packing

Garment packaging is the process of wrapping, compressing, filling or creating of goods for the purpose of protection and their appropriate handling. This is the final process in the production of garments, which prepares the finished merchandise for delivery to the customer. It is an important part of the garment manufacturing process. This includes two levels of packing. First the “primary or inner packing” in which the apparel is packed in a poly-bag or transparent pouch or inner carton box. The second is the “secondary or outer packing” in which the primary packing is packed in a corrugated carton box which facilitates the easy and safe transportation of the apparel.

Merchandising

Merchandising means to arrange all the required raw materials and to make the goods ready to sell them to customers. It is the department that mediates marketing and production departments. Sometimes, the merchandising department will have to do costing and pricing also. In any case, the merchandiser is the person whose responsibility is to execute the orders perfectly as per the costing and pricing. So it is a very valuable department.

Stitching

Stitching or Sewing is the most prominent department of any garment manufacturing company. We possess a team of experienced tailors for the manufacturing of premium quality garments. We have adopted the assembly line manufacturing process, which ensures to mass-produce garments swiftly and efficiently. Since customer satisfaction is our USP – we follow high-quality control checks at the time of production and at the end of production. The said process is named as In-line and end line quality inspection respectively. In-line quality inspection means inspecting garment at the time of production, so that any defect occurring may be located at the earlier stage which also keeps the garment defects rate at minimal. And end line quality inspection is done at our stitching factory to address quality issues post-production.

Buttoning

Buttons are small instruments that are usually attached to an article of apparel or garment in order to secure an opening. Buttoning is done by sliding the button through a piece of fabric with a reinforced slit called buttonhole or thread loop. Since we are manufacturing baby apparel so to keep the garment most reliable we use Prym based poppers and high-quality plastic snap fasteners for 99.9% reliability of the garment. These snap buttons are certified nickel and lead-free. Snap fasteners offer a discreet, hidden closure, creating a clean look to the front of delicate baby apparel, etc. Our products are approved under the CPSIA guidelines. In-house pull testing capability enables us to check on each style that is being produced for snap buttons, regular buttonhole buttons, as well as attachments like tassels, pom-poms which are also crucial for safe baby clothes manufacturing.

Printing

The manual process used to print a roll of cloth with the help of manpower on the wax table is called the table printing process. Textile table printing is done on a 45 meter to 75 meters long table which is coated with wax. The wax is applied to that table. The purpose of applying wax on that is to hold that cloth which is to be printed. Wax acts as a glue for that cloth so that the cloth remains stretched on that table and the printing process can be done easily and accurately. The table printing method helps to produce clean-cut lines and detailed images. The color also holds well, and it’s long-lasting. This method of printing is cost-effective and allows flexible garment production for SMALL runs.

Sampling

The sample is a product which represents a group of product or lot. The sample will reflect the quality and workmanship of the manufacturer. Garment samples are inevitably an important part of garments manufacturing business. Sampling procedure in the apparel industry is an important activity for the order acceptance as the buyer generally places the order after getting satisfied with the quality of the samples. A sampling includes details like a product/style code or a reference number, color specifications, kind of fabric, composition, description, quantity, and details of embroidery, buttons, zippers, or any other sort of accessories used. Hence it can be said that samples of garments work as a bridge between buyers and manufacturers.
